Lake Vestmannsvatn

This lake is located in Thingeyjarsýsla about 49.6 miles (80 km) east of Akureyri and 17 miles (28 km) from Húsavik. River Reykjadalsá feeds it and its discharge, Eyvindarlaekur, tributes to the fine salmon river Laxá. It is divided into two fishing areas that have plenty of good spots and banks to fish from. The catch consists mostly of Arctic char, but also of Brown trout. Occasionally, salmon is caught in the lake as well. The lake is accessible by car from the south and the walking distance to its northern side, from the main road, is about 500m.
