Lake Sléttuhlídarvatn

Sléttuhlídarvatn is located by Highway 76, 13 miles (21 km) north of Hofsós and about 74 miles (120 km) from Akureyri. Fishing is only allowed on the property of the farm named Hraun, marked with signs. Sea char and Brown trout are both found in abundance. A small creek runs out from the lake and joins river Hrolleifsdalsá. It holds a good sized Brown trout and the Sea char uses it to get to the lake. However, it is not permitted to fish Hrolleifsdalsá or the junction pool. The peak season is in May and June, but fishing is actually quite good all summer.
