Eyjafjarðará is more than 44 miles (70 km) long, running north through the beautiful valley of Eyjafjördur. It joins the ocean close to the town Akureyri. The river is easily accessible by roads 821 and 829. It is renowned for its big Arctic char but you can also expect to find Sea trout and the occasional salmon. Rods, 8-9´ and for 5-7 wt. lines are suitable. Bright colored nymphs and steamers are effective.
